Adwoa (pronounced Adjua) Boateng

My Subjects:

Biological Sciences,Chemistry,Color Sci., Imaging Science, Math/Stat, Medical, Nutrition, Physics/AstroPhysics.

My role is to assist you in searching, accessing and citing the right information using both standard and innovative methods. I work with the Dean, faculty, staff and students at College of Science.

I provide Faculty Support via: (1) book ordering for courses and course reserves, (2) classroom library instruction, (3) information research for faculty (4) individual office visits (5) contact with COS departments' library committee reps. I am just a phone call or email away.

I am responsible for and I am still in the process of updating the core collection of the Sciences/Math related journals and books to reflect faculty scholarship, teaching and collaborative research activities at RIT. This is an annual ongoing process working collaboratively with the College of Science departments.

What's New?:

TUTORIALS are being developed to provide a quick overview on how to navigate the Wallace library's webpages as well as on how to use specific information research tools, resources and library services.

FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP/TEACHING SUPPORT : At the request of College of Science faculty, I meet with students in their classrooms/laboratories to instruct on which databases/other resources are appropriate for their research as well as how to cite scholarly information. My library instruction classes involve hands on computer sessions where feasible, using faculty provided class assignments. I also assist judging the information quality and citing of final class powerpoint presentations. The time allotted for my library instruction vary according to faculty class time constraints. After class students meet with me on a one on one basis.
