RIT Cary Graphic Arts Collection Image Reproduction Fees

Commercial firms (including publishers):
$75.00 per image/per use

Non-profit organizations and independent researchers:
$30.00 per image/per use

RIT Alumni:
$20.00 per image/per use

RIT faculty, staff and students:
$10.00 per image/per use

This fee applies toward one-time use only. Exceptions for multiple use of the same edition require a negotiated fee and such permission must be specifically granted in the Application for Permission to Publish.

Fees are for a single edition. Each separate edition may require a use fee. Different editions reflect change in intellectual content (editing, abbreviation) or market (different date of publication, different target groups such as book club editions, commercial television vs. theatrical release vs. home release) or physical form (trade paper, pocket paper). Exceptions: distribution in various television media for a single market is considered a single edition (e.g. VHS, LaserDisk, and DVD for a home market).

Fees include ancillary use of the image materials related to the product for which permission is granted. Ancillary materials in which an image is used must clearly pertain to the principal product (e.g. advertisements, brochures); related materials which could be packaged, sold or distributed as products distinct from the original require a separate fee. Decisions as to whether a use is ancillary belong solely to the Curator of the Collections.
